We also stopped at the Aspen Art Museum where I enjoyed a show of small, dense paintings by Cathy Wilkes - this one is Untitled, 2009. Courtesy of The Artist and Galerie Giti Nourbakhsch, Berlin and the Aspen Art Museum.

Dario Robleto at D'Amelio Terras

Probably my favorite show in NY was Dario Robleto's "The Minor Chords Are Ours" at D’Amelio Terras. While most of the works are aesthetically pleasing without the rich content/back-story, they really come alive after reading through his process. I think you will agree:

A collection of seashells were grouped into a series of pairs. Each couple was then serenaded with a different Dusty Springfield song for 48 hours at a time. Each seashell’s partner was then returned to the shore

The minor chords from a family’s 60-year record collection were isolated to audio tape, stretched into thread, and spooled.

I spent a few days this week helping Mindy Bray with this huge wall painting - here's a process photo from earlier this week. The finished work is very impressive. See it tonight!

Things are falling into place

Here's a photo of things as they were on Saturday. As of yesterday, Mindy Bray's site specific work directly on the wall of the gallery is nearing completion (you can see her working in the background of the above photo) and nine out of ten of my works are installed. We will be laying out the group exhibition for installation this afternoon. It is a real honor to present my work with such a talented and inspiring group of artists.

Ane Graff, "Sliding"
