New Print Available - "Two Roofs" by Nathan Abels

I am pleased to announce that there is a new print of my work available now through POVevolving. I can personally attest to the quality of this print. It's printed on thick, high-quality Crane Museo Max 365gsm paper using archival pigmented inks. Each print comes with a signed and numbered certificate of authenticity - signed by yours truly. The image size is 7.5x7.5" and there is a white border to allow for framing. There are only 50 in the edition, and they're priced very affordably ($39) so get one while they last.

This Evening!

Nathan Abels, "Island", Graphite and Colored Pencil on Paper

I am pleased to announce that TODAY - May 20th at 7:30 pm EDT a small editioned print of my drawing titled "Island" will be available for purchase for no more than $25 through the wonderful Tiny Showcase. I will be in good company too -Tiny Showcase has printed editions of works by notable contemporary artists like Josh Keyes, and Marci Washington, and has even been featured in Oprah magazine as well as numerous art and design blogs.

This is a great and very affordable way to start your contemporary art collection and donate to a good cause. Tiny Showcase donates a percentage of the proceeds to a charity of the artist's choice - in my case I will be donating to the Alta Vista Center for Autism here in Denver, where my wife works. Austim rates are soaring nationwide, currently affecting one in every 150 children in the US. This is a organization and cause I feel strongly about and by purchasing my print from Tiny Showcase, you will be donating to help children with autism that attend the Alta Vista Center from all over the Front Range here in Colorado.

Ben Kehoe

Speaking of Tiny Showcase - I was lucky enough to get the very last print of the most recent edition they featured:

Ben Kehoe, "Death Is Carried On The Backs Of The Innocent"

This is a great image - passive and violent at the same time.

Editioned Art and Photography - Lumas and Artocracy

I discovered Lumas Editions at Art Chicago a couple of years ago. They are based in NY and according to their site,

"We created LUMAS with the hope of making the art market more accessible and stirring our passion for photography in a new generation of collectors. With LUMAS, we aspired towards creating a means for experiencing and owning exceptional art photography. Together with an esteemed curatorial board, the LUMAS team spent two years putting together our current, diverse and exciting portfolio.

We offer selected works by these artists as hand-signed original photographs. These editions normally range from 75 to 150 prints, some being available even in full-wall sizes. This allows us to make high quality art photographs affordable to everyone."

Anne Heinlein, from the "Combat Zone" series, "Feld #1"

They update their site and artists frequently and have a huge range of work that is of much higher quality than most places that do editions. I could post a lot of their artists as persons of interest - but go to their site and take a look around. The prints still aren't cheap - but they are reasonable. If you're looking for something more affordable - check out this new site:

Ryan Helsel, "Untitled 10"

At Artocracy you can find prints as cheap as $20-40, with a variety of framing and printing options. Buy Art!
