Spring Break!

Soon... some Desert Solitaire. Currently preparing by reading up on Cold Splinters, the Non-Technical Canyon Guide to the Colorado Plateau,  gathering supplies, and making playlists. Music of choice for long drives in the West this Spring will be:

Weekend

We spent another weekend in the Leadville area and half our group conquered Mt. Elbert - Colorado's highest peak (the rest retired early). Here's a photo taken by Lorna of the crowd at the top.

It was a perfect day for a long hike and we also caught the last of the golden aspen leaves:

We took a long road trip through a couple of ghost towns (St. Elmo, Ironton) and camped in Ridgeway, Colroado. We also spent some time in Ouray, and a night outside of Silverton on the banks of the beautiful Molas Lake. Take a look through the photos (34 of the better ones from the trip).

Vincent Laforet recently posted a collection of photos relating to the (slowly) changing commuting patterns of Americans - and the photos all feature some photoshopped tilt-shift photography. He uses the process very effectively - I posted about making fake miniatures like this recently here.
