Signs of Fall

Flying through the mountains yesterday gave me my first glimpse of the best part of Fall here in Colorado: the aspen trees. Just look at how those aspens glow yellow around all the pines. I can't wait to get back up to Rocky Mountain National Park and listen to the elks bugling (watch this youtube clip) and admire the vibrant yellow leaves:

Sweet.


This is the PA-97 Helistat and it looks awesome. According to Piasecki Aircraft Corp, "The Helistat was built under a 1980 U.S. Navy contract for the Forest Service to demonstrate economic and ecological potential of heavy vertical air lifters in harvesting timber and other natural resources in difficult-to-get-to terrain." found via things magazine.
