Opening Tonight!

New Exhibition: "Everybody Loves A Trainwreck"

Everybody Loves a Train Wreck (Unless You’re on the Train)
A creative partnership between Art Students League of Denver and Stories on Stage
Creative Directors: Norma Moore & Leona Lazar
Adultery makes for some of life’s most intense and interesting train wrecks. It is a high-risk source of excitement and adventure as well as long-term damage to individuals, families, and political careers. Stories about adultery make juicy listening, but if it happens to you, it’s devastating. Join us as we explore the landscape of adulterous relationships through a combination of the visual, literary and performing arts.
Stories on Stage invited Colorado writers to submit original stories on the subject of infidelity, particularly those that have shaped the national political scene. The Art Students League of Denver has invited visual artists to share their views on this topic through original works of art. Join us for both the art exhibition at the Art Students League and the performance in which the winning story will be read by Denver actors with images of the works of art integrated into the performance.

What Road

Here are the lyrics for this image (c/o Destroyer - an excerpt from "What Road"):
so quick let's go
it's time for the ride
the future's yours
no wait I lied
it's not yours
it's a replica of scattered ash
and the road the rain's on

- In person:
Damien Hirst at the Denver MCA:

Daniel Richter at the Denver Art Museum:

Jenny Morgan collaborative pieces at Object+Thought in Denver:

The "Manifest Hope" exhibition of Obama art in Denver (Shepherd Fairey and other great Juxtapoz artists):
- Found online this year:

There were many more (Romanticism, Tonalism, etc)- but these stood out to me when I went through my blog posts for the year.
2008 was also a year of many blogging experiments - some of which I would like to revisit this year, including:
- Artist Interviews (Leah Giberson, Ane Graff, and Julian Lee)
- Exclusive Art (Bill Amundson, and Jason Stopa)
- How-to
- Inspiration Walls
- Simulacra
Anything you'd like to see more of in 2009? Leave comments please...
